GRANT APPLICATION PROCEDURES

The Pueblo Day Nursery Children's Foundation is a private, grant making foundation, incorporated under Colorado law to benefit the children of the City and County of Pueblo, only.

Guidelines:

Applications for grants are accepted only from qualified IRS tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) organizations. The Foundation will not consider grants to institutions, which, in policy or practice, discriminate on the basis of race, creed, or sex. The Foundation Board will consider only one request from an organization during any 12-month period (our fiscal year begins April 1). Applications are to be postmarked no later than October 1 each year for consideration at the November meeting. Grants are awarded in March. The Foundation Board will determine if the proposal falls within the areas of interest and current funding priorities. The Foundation Board prefers to fund specific projects with dedicated resources that benefit children of Pueblo County. Significant factors considered are: number of children served and cost per child. Grant amounts range from $100.00 to $5,000.00 with an average grant allocated at $1,800.00. Grant determination is at the discretion of the PDNCF Board of Directors. All grant determinations are final. Individual Foundation Board Members may conduct on site visits with the organization's representative. Organizations, applying for a PDNCF grant may use the grant application form provided on the web site or may use the Colorado Common Grant Application form.

In addition, the Foundation generally will not consider:

1. Grants to Individuals

2. Grants to public schools

3. Grants for religious projects

4. Endowment funds

5. Grants to cover deficits or retirement of debt

6. Annual operational support
